PRESERVING THE SOUL OF AUSTRALIAN WINE
Jamison Lim and Jenny Lai spotted the trend early; plots in some of South Australia’s most celebrated wine regions, with heritage often stretching back a century or more, were at risk of being lost.
From the Barossa Valley to McLaren Vale, these often inherited, family-run plots were home to some of the world’s oldest vines, and carried precious stories, traditions and flavours – a purple soul that deserved to be celebrated, not forgotten.
Rather than letting this history fade, the pair saw an opportunity to honour and revive it. So, in 2018, they set out to protect and preserve these vineyards. They launched their own label; one with a name that neatly captured their mission.

Honouring heritage and hardworking hands
The quest to preserve and celebrate Australia’s grape-growing heritage soon kicked into gear. The goals were threefold:
- Craft wines that capture both the character of the land and those who work it.
- Establish genuine partnerships with growers to bring their stories to the glass.
- Treat legacy not as something you inherit, but something you nurture.
Armed with an award-winning skill set and spurred on by their mission, Jamison and Jenny got to work.
It began with a bold and grounded McLaren Vale Shiraz; all dark plum, spice and mineral tension.
It developed into a growing portfolio of expressive, elegant wines: an Adelaide Hills Chardonnay of zesty citrus, creamy texture and clean acidity; a Barossa Valley Grenache defined by perfumed red berries, floral lift and a silky finish.
At the heart of the portfolio lies a commitment to terroir; every new wine must reflect the distinct personality of the vineyards from which it came.
